NON-PROFIT TRAINING:

JSCW’s Nonprofit Training Program gives emerging nonprofit leaders the knowledge, tools, and confidence to build sustainable, high-impact organizations. Many Black changemakers launch nonprofits to meet urgent community needs, but often without access to formal training or infrastructure support. This program closes that gap with practical, accessible education built for their realities.

Participants explore the core pillars of nonprofit management, including organizational structure, governance, financial management, and compliance. They learn how to set up a strong legal and operational foundation, build effective boards of directors, and put transparent fiscal systems in place that support accountability and growth.

A major part of the program focuses on strategic planning and leadership development. Founders are guided through writing clear mission statements, setting measurable goals, and building action plans that match community needs and long-term sustainability. Sessions also cover program design, outcome measurement, and storytelling for fundraising, helping leaders show their impact and attract donors, grants, and partnerships.

The training leans on peer learning and collaboration. Participants connect with other nonprofit founders, share challenges, and trade strategies for success. This network of emerging leaders becomes a real support system, keeping growth and collaboration going well beyond the classroom.

Graduates leave ready to launch or strengthen their organizations with the operational know-how, leadership confidence, and community connections it takes to make a measurable difference.
