NON-PROFIT TRAINING:

JSCW’s Nonprofit Training Program is designed to empower emerging nonprofit leaders with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to build sustainable, high-impact organizations. Recognizing that many Black and minority changemakers launch nonprofits to address urgent community needs – but often without access to formal training or infrastructure support – this program bridges that gap with practical, accessible education tailored to their realities.

Participants explore the core pillars of nonprofit management, including organizational structure, governance, financial management, and compliance. They learn how to establish a strong legal and operational foundation, develop effective boards of directors, and implement transparent fiscal systems that support accountability and growth.

A major component of the program focuses on strategic planning and leadership development. Founders are guided through building clear mission statements, setting measurable goals, and creating action plans that align with community needs and long-term sustainability. Sessions also address program design, outcome measurement, and storytelling for fundraising—helping leaders articulate impact and attract donors, grants, and partnerships.

The training emphasizes peer learning and collaboration. Participants connect with other nonprofit founders, share challenges, and exchange strategies for success. This network of emerging leaders becomes a vital support system, fostering continued growth and collaboration beyond the classroom.

Graduates leave equipped to launch or strengthen their organizations with the operational knowledge, leadership confidence, and community connections necessary to make a measurable difference.
