Powering Mission-Focused Impact.

FISCAL SPONSORSHIP:

Jumpstart South Central Wisconsin (JSCW) will launch a Fiscal Sponsorship Program to support new and early-stage nonprofits that align with our mission of advancing equity, innovation, and community development. This program is designed for founders who are passionate about creating change but may not yet have the administrative capacity or resources to manage the complex responsibilities of nonprofit compliance and financial oversight.

Through fiscal sponsorship, JSCW will serve as the legal and administrative umbrella for emerging organizations, allowing them to operate under our established nonprofit status while they build their infrastructure. This arrangement enables founders to focus on what matters most – developing programs, serving their communities, and securing funding – without the immediate burden of navigating the regulatory and financial requirements of maintaining independent 501(c)(3) status.

JSCW will handle the critical backend operations that ensure transparency and accountability, including:

  • Financial management and recordkeeping

  • Grant and donation administration

  • IRS and state compliance reporting

  • Risk management and policy oversight

  • Capacity-building support and mentorship

In addition to administrative support, participants will benefit from access to JSCW’s network of mentors, funders, and peer organizations. Our team will provide guidance on governance, strategic planning, and long-term sustainability – helping founders prepare to eventually transition into full independence when ready.

The Fiscal Sponsorship Program reflects JSCW’s commitment to removing barriers to entry for community-driven changemakers. By lowering the cost and complexity of starting a nonprofit, we help visionary leaders bring their ideas to life faster, increase their access to funding, and strengthen the region’s ecosystem of organizations working toward equity and social impact.

Ultimately, this initiative will empower a new generation of mission-driven founders – especially those from underrepresented backgrounds – to lead with confidence, build credibility, and create lasting change in South Central Wisconsin.
